Ed Cox Chateau Thierry Apartments, 1920 S St. NW, Dupont Circle neighborhood, DC.
Cox was a political activist, and co-founder of Some of Us Press (with Michael Lally, Lee Lally, Terence Winch, and Ed Zahniser). He was active in the Mass Transit reading series in the 1970s and 80s. Cox taught poetry workshops in battered women's shelters and senior adult homes, and edited two anthologies of his students' poems, Seeds and Leaves (1977), and Some Lives (1984). He lived on Saratoga Ave. from 1959 to 1964, and in the two other addresses in the 1980s. |
